After 5 minutes of play, Quissama SC's Bruninho Rezende made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sebastião Alves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Arósio in the 12th minute of play forced Estrema's goalkeeper Sebastião Alves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Giovani Donatello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Vítor Teixeira having to interfere. Cléberson da Cunha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Vítor Teixeira having to interfere. Rodolfo Catarinense's late challenge caught a Estrema's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rodolfo Catarinense helped the player get up and apologised. Cléberson da Cunha's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but João Vítor Teixeira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. Sebastião Alves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Arósio in the 24th minute of play. In the 25th minute, Kléberson Linhares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Estrema getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Hugo Neiva hit a great ball. After 39 played minutes Quissama SC got a freekick which was hit by Caco Pena. If Cléberson da Cunha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Bruninho Rezende came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Quissama SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bruninho Rezende couldn't finish the play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Paulo Arósio to make the kick off. Bruninho Rezende sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sebastião Alves made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Bruninho Rezende sent off a good shot on target. In the 57th match minute, Estrema was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kléberson Linhares to maneuver through the defense. If Bruninho Rezende had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 60 minutes, Paulo Arósio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Quissama SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paulo Arósio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 62 minutes into the match, Quissama SC's Bruninho Rezende sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sebastião Alves narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Quissama SC's Paulo Arósio got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Paulo Arósio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastião Alves having to interfere. In the 68th minute, Rodolfo Catarinense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In a very dangerous position, a player in Quissama SC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 74th minute. Penalty! Giovani Donatello sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. João Vítor Teixeira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cléberson da Cunha in the 83rd minute of the match. In the 85th minute Cléberson da Cunha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Vítor Teixeira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Paulo Arósio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 95 minutes into the game, Giovani Donatello cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. João Vítor Teixeira was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Quissama SC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
