Spectators: 5350 (Terracing: 4100, Seating: 1200, VIP seats: 50) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Edmílson Teles started the match with the kick off. When Ernesto Souto fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fluminense FC's protests and gave Ernesto Souto a yellow card for diving instead. Ernesto Souto hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Zé Pedro Leite showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmílson Teles, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Mário Jacinto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Moisés Sampaio hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Evaristo Pena was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 20th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Zé Pedro Leite made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Brito in the 22nd minute of play. 24 minutes into the match, Fluminense FC's goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Brito came free, but Zé Pedro Leite reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 27 minutes into the match, Fluminense FC's goalkeeper Zé Pedro Leite had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luiz Brito. 31 minutes into the match, Fluminense FC's goal looked a bit too open when Edmílson Teles came free, but Zé Pedro Leite reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Fluminense FC getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Ernesto Souto hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Mário Jacinto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fluminense FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Mário Jacinto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luís Eduardo Couto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Fluminense FC's zone, Edmílson Teles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zé Pedro Leite came out of the goal and Edmílson Teles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Zé Pedro Leite made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luiz Brito in the 40th minute. The audience was convinced that Edmílson Teles's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zé Pedro Leite was relentless in the 44th minute of the game. Mário Jacinto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mário Jacinto to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Fluminense FC's goal looked a bit too open when Edmílson Teles came free, but Zé Pedro Leite reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zé Pedro Leite showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Brito, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Luiz Brito blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Zé Pedro Leite having to make a save. Edmílson Teles recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Zé Pedro Leite took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Brito, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Edmílson Teles came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the rei pirata fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edmílson Teles couldn't finish the play. Edmílson Teles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Fluminense FC's Mário Jacinto got a free kick in the 68th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmílson Teles in the 71st minute of play forced Fluminense FC's goalkeeper Zé Pedro Leite to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 74th minute, Romário Falcão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Moisés Sampaio made in the 78th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Guga Pimenta immediately put the ball in play. Zé Pedro Leite made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Brito in the 81st minute of play. If Betão Paiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 86 played minutes Fluminense FC got a freekick which was hit by Romário Falcão. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Brito in the 91st minute of play forced Fluminense FC's goalkeeper Zé Pedro Leite to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zé Pedro Leite showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmílson Teles, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
