Spectators: 7163 (Terracing: 5406, Seating: 1657, VIP seats: 100) Roberto Simão started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Acácio Trigo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 7 played minutes, Foz do Iguaçu FC's Virgílio Valle shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Walmyr Valle came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Foz do Iguaçu FC reached it. Fernandão Matorin charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fernandão Matorin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 8th minute, Fernandão Matorin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match clock showed 10 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Roberto Simão sped through Higienopolis Futebol Club's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Walmyr Valle. Fernandão Matorin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Henrique Furtado read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. Fernandão Matorin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henrique Furtado having to interfere. Roberto Simão blasted a shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Walmyr Valle having to make a save. With a little luck, Foz do Iguaçu FC's Henrique Furtado got control of the ball when Leandro Velloso tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fernandão Matorin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Acácio Trigo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Henrique Furtado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Higienopolis Futebol Club's Walmyr Valle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudinei Dante in the 32nd minute of play. If Claudinei Dante had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 42nd minute Roberto Simão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walmyr Valle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 45 minutes into the game, Higienopolis Futebol Club's Fernandão Matorin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Henrique Furtado made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Acácio Trigo to make the kick off. Cesinha Figueiredo charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cesinha Figueiredo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 54th minute of the game. One of Foz do Iguaçu FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Higienopolis Futebol Club:s goal. Betão Fernandes walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. In the 58th match minute, Foz do Iguaçu FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giovani de Lara to maneuver through the defense. Claudinei Dante recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Higienopolis Futebol Club's Leandro Velloso got a free kick in the 66th minute. In the 69thth minute of the game Roberto Simão who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Higienopolis Futebol Club's Walmyr Valle was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Roberto Simão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Roberto Simão managed to get in a good position for a shot. Foz do Iguaçu FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Roberto Simão was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Walmyr Valle breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Henrique Furtado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Acácio Trigo, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. In the 77th minute, Fernandão Matorin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 82 minutes into the match, Higienopolis Futebol Club's goalkeeper Walmyr Valle had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Claudinei Dante. Henrique Furtado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fernandão Matorin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
