Gláuber Sá made a fantastic save in the 7th minute, when Luiz Guilherme Mineiro sent off a good shot on target. Gláuber Sá stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jardel Dias's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. In the 12th minute, Luiz Guilherme Mineiro fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. When Jardel Dias came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Tapiraim fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jardel Dias couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Jardel Dias's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gláuber Sá was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. In the 20th match minute, Tapiraim was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Severino Lira to maneuver through the defense. In the 21stth minute of the game Flavinho de Senna who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tapiraim's Rodolfo Quadros was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 22 played minutes Tapiraim got a freekick which was hit by Severino Lira. Flavinho de Senna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodolfo Quadros having to interfere. In the 25th minute, Emerson Reis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alfredão da Cunha kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jardel Dias in the 29th minute of play forced Palmas FR's goalkeeper Gláuber Sá to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luiz Guilherme Mineiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Kléberson Medeiros managed to get in a good position for a shot. Palmas FR's supporters rose to their feet, but Kléberson Medeiros was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rodolfo Quadros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gláuber Sá showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jardel Dias in the 45th minute of the match. Jardel Dias scored 1-0 in the 45th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gláuber Sá, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Flavinho de Senna made a kick off. In the 51st minute Luiz Guilherme Mineiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gláuber Sá saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Luiz Guilherme Mineiro came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Tapiraim fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luiz Guilherme Mineiro couldn't finish the play. Rodolfo Quadros made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Kléberson Medeiros sent off a good shot on target. In the 62nd minute Flavinho de Senna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodolfo Quadros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Haroldo Sá struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Gláuber Sá didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tapiraim. Luiz Guilherme Mineiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 68th minute, Luiz Guilherme Mineiro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gláuber Sá was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. The supporters of Tapiraim booed when Palmas FR was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Flavinho de Senna didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jardel Dias recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jardel Dias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Gláuber Sá tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rodolfo Quadros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Flavinho de Senna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rodolfo Quadros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Flavinho de Senna, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. The supporters of Tapiraim booed when Palmas FR was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vinícius Vianna didn't get a good kick on the ball. Palmas FR's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
