Evaristo Mendonça's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joel Neves read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. Agnaldo Esteves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benedito Neto having to interfere. Benedito Neto didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Felippe Bezerra went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 19 minutes into the match, U. S. Soccer's goal looked a bit too open when Agnaldo Esteves came free, but Benedito Neto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bernardinho Penha kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. In the 24th minute, Mixquita FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Jairo Breckenfeld fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. U. S. Soccer's Evaristo Mendonça was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 25th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. When Evaristo Mendonça came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the U. S. Soccer fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Evaristo Mendonça couldn't finish the play. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Evaristo Mendonça stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jairo Breckenfeld in the 59th minute of play forced Mixquita FC's goalkeeper Joel Neves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jairo Breckenfeld might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Joel Neves. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jairo Breckenfeld ran back to his position shaking his head. After 65 minutes, Bernardinho Penha mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U. S. Soccer and the Mixquita FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 65 played minutes U. S. Soccer got a freekick which was hit by Bernardinho Penha. Benedito Neto was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Chiquinho Guerra. Váldson Esteves hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. In the 68thth minute of the game Felippe Bezerra who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U. S. Soccer's Benedito Neto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 72nd match minute, U. S. Soccer was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wiliam Leite to maneuver through the defense. Jairo Breckenfeld recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 81 minutes, Zé Pedro Leão mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mixquita FC and the U. S. Soccer players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 82nd match minute, Mixquita FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zé Pedro Leão to maneuver through the defense. Hernani Gaspar took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 82nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Joel Neves. Mixquita FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Felippe Bezerra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Benedito Neto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Evaristo Mendonça had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 95th match minute, U. S. Soccer was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernardinho Penha to maneuver through the defense. Agnaldo Esteves could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 97th minute of the match, but Benedito Neto made a huge save. The Mixquita FC players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented U. S. Soccer from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
