Vitinho Porto might have been able to make a better finish in the 3rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Evandro Ferraz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vitinho Porto ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 5th minute, Durvalino Aparecido fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Evandro Ferraz, passed just outside the right post. Vitinho Porto in the 7thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Evandro Ferraz, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vicente Gonçalves in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Evandro Ferraz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rubinho Salgado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lúcio Sena in the 21st minute of play. In the 21stth minute of the game Lúcio Sena who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SóCanelas's Rubinho Salgado was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With his leg Evandro Ferraz managed to avoid a goal in the 23rdth minute, when SóCanelas's Durvalino Aparecido fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After having played for 25 minutes, Durvalino Aparecido managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SóCanelas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Durvalino Aparecido was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rubinho Salgado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geovani Moura, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 28 minutes into the match, SóCanelas's goal looked a bit too open when Anísio de Toledo came free, but Rubinho Salgado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Evandro Ferraz made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Vitinho Porto sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Vicente Gonçalves managed to get in a good position for a shot. SóCanelas's supporters rose to their feet, but Vicente Gonçalves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Evandro Ferraz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Arnaldo Prata came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the SóCanelas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arnaldo Prata couldn't finish the play. SóCanelas's Iuri Lima got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Arnaldo Prata received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Evandro Ferraz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 38 minutes, Vicente Gonçalves managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gaviões da Vila Alpina's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SóCanelas the free kick. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Anísio de Toledo was the one to do the kick off. Evandro Ferraz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vitinho Porto's shot from short distance in the 51st minute. Charles Cardozo struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Evandro Ferraz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SóCanelas. Evandro Ferraz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vitinho Porto, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Durvalino Aparecido sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Evandro Ferraz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vicente Gonçalves's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. Rubinho Salgado came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by Gaviões da Vila Alpina's Geovani Moura. But to his dismay, Geovani Moura quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Zeca Velasco was shown his second yellow card after 84 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 85 played minutes Gaviões da Vila Alpina got a freekick which was hit by Zeca Velasco. In the 86th minute, Vicente Gonçalves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Evandro Ferraz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Vicente Gonçalves went, in the 87th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. In the 91st minute, Durvalino Aparecido left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SóCanelas fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Evandro Ferraz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vicente Gonçalves in the 96th minute of the match. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. SóCanelas had played much better football throughout.
