When Luiz Paulo Monteiro came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Portel F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luiz Paulo Monteiro couldn't finish the play. Luiz Paulo Monteiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Marcelo Correia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Isaltino Leme in the 84thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of José Paiva, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Jailson de Salles ran back to his position shaking his head. When the match had gone on for 96 minutes, Isaltino Leme took a quick shot and it went in 2-3 without a chance for José Paiva to make any attempt to save it. The Portel F.C. fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Emile were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
