With a little luck, Grêmio Copêro's Emílio Coutinho got control of the ball when Eriberto Vieira tried to sneak it across the goal line. Alfredo de Senna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Jaime Vaz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 20 minutes, Jorge Paranaense managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Grêmio Copêro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jorge Paranaense was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. José Maria Vale took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Emílio Coutinho. Emílio Coutinho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. A collision led to Grêmio Copêro getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Nelson Mello hit a great ball. 34 minutes into the game, Eriberto Vieira recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Emílio Coutinho. Eriberto Vieira showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. After a rather tough play, Flamengo CRF's José Maria Vale got a free kick in the 36th minute. The supporters of Flamengo CRF booed when Grêmio Copêro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonathan Cabral didn't get a good kick on the ball. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jorge Paranaense was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Nilton Rosado ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Emílio Coutinho was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelinho Carneiro in the 57th minute of play forced Flamengo CRF's goalkeeper Jaime Vaz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 58 minutes of play, Flamengo CRF's Eriberto Vieira made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Emílio Coutinho was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 62 minutes, Luizinho Sousa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Flamengo CRF and the Grêmio Copêro players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 62 played minutes Flamengo CRF got a freekick which was hit by Luizinho Sousa. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, César Campidelis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Grêmio Copêro's supporters rose to their feet, but César Campidelis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jaime Vaz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Grêmio Copêro's Emílio Coutinho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eriberto Vieira in the 67th minute of play. 70 minutes into the game, Luizão Galvão was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Flamengo CRF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Grêmio Copêro the free kick. Luizão Galvão hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Jorge Paranaense blasted a shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jaime Vaz having to make a save. After 73 played minutes Flamengo CRF got a freekick which was hit by Nilton Rosado. The supporters of Flamengo CRF booed when Grêmio Copêro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nelson Mello didn't get a good kick on the ball. Emílio Coutinho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eriberto Vieira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Flamengo CRF had played much better football throughout.
