Quadrada's supporters crossed their fingers, but Christian de Sousa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Márcio Almeida in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ernesto de Toledo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ernesto de Toledo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sydney Leme in the 25th minute of the match. Márcio Almeida fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernesto de Toledo having to interfere. When Ruy Porto fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Quadrada's protests and gave Ruy Porto a yellow card for diving instead. In the 29th minute, Ruy Porto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Gino Salles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gino Salles made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Gigante's Fabiano Meirelles got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Erik Pontes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gino Salles in the 56th minute of play. If Luiz Guilherme Vieira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Sydney Leme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Quadrada's supporters rose to their feet, but Luiz Guilherme Vieira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Erik Pontes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Victor Jacinto kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Guilherme Vieira in the 80th minute of play forced Gigante's goalkeeper Erik Pontes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 95 minutes, Gino Salles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Quadrada's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gino Salles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. There was no doubt that Quadrada were the better team. Quadrada's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
