Spectators: 7231 (Terracing: 5425, Seating: 1663, VIP seats: 143) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Márcio Almeida took the kick off in the first half of the match. Luís Fernando Meirelles took the ball and in the 4 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Erik Pontes. Erik Pontes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Araça F.C.'s Antônio Mineiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save Araça F.C. from getting a goal against them. When Márcio Almeida came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Gigante fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Márcio Almeida couldn't finish the play. Araça F.C.'s Antônio Mineiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Márcio Almeida in the 17th minute of play. In the 20th minute, Luís Fernando Meirelles made a precise shot to the right of Erik Pontes. Gigante's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. If Sydney Leme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Araça F.C.'s zone, Sydney Leme stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Antônio Mineiro came out of the goal and Sydney Leme tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Márcio Almeida received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Antônio Mineiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Araça F.C.'s Antônio Mineiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Araça F.C. from getting a goal against them. If Sydney Leme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Márcio Almeida fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antônio Mineiro having to interfere. After the first half Araça F.C. were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edson Passos to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sydney Leme in the 54th minute of play forced Araça F.C.'s goalkeeper Antônio Mineiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sydney Leme sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Márcio Almeida in the 57th minute of play forced Araça F.C.'s goalkeeper Antônio Mineiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Araça F.C. getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Cássio Mangueira hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Edson Passos kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Erik Pontes. That made the score 1-3 in the 65 minute of play. 78 minutes into the game, Oscar Urbano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Araça F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gigante the free kick. In the 77th minute, one of Araça F.C.:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Araça F.C.. A collision led to Gigante getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Sílvio Sá hit a great ball. The supporters of Gigante booed when Araça F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cássio Mangueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Araça F.C.'s Cristian Santos got a free kick in the 96th minute.
