Cesinha Sousa charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After 34 played minutes Meninos da Vila U18 got a freekick which was hit by Cesinha Sousa. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Elder Palmeira in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With a little luck, Freixal's Alberto de Lima got control of the ball when Pedrão Vinhas tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Meninos da Vila U18's zone, Zé Roberto Viana stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alexsandro Ceresso came out of the goal and Zé Roberto Viana tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Meninos da Vila U18 players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Freixal were winning 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gilmar Vaz made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elder Palmeira in the 52nd minute of play forced Meninos da Vila U18's goalkeeper Alexsandro Ceresso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
