Spectators: 6663 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1663, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Genílson Santana started the match with the kick off. In the 3rdth minute of the game José Paulo Félix who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rolante's Adhemar Sampaio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 4 minutes of play, irajamaoca's Nildo Andrade made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Adhemar Sampaio was left in no man's land by his defense there! Rolante's Adhemar Sampaio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manfredo Cerezo in the 11th minute of play. José Paulo Félix sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Nildo Andrade had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 20th minute, José Paulo Félix got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Genílson Santana in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hortêncio Peres prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind irajamaoca's goalkeeper Hortêncio Peres, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 31 minutes into the match, irajamaoca's goal looked a bit too open when Genílson Santana came free, but Hortêncio Peres reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in irajamaoca's zone, David Loyola stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hortêncio Peres came out of the goal and David Loyola tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Genílson Santana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Genílson Santana kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Hortêncio Peres. That made the score 1-1 in the 39 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Genílson Santana in the 43rd minute of play forced irajamaoca's goalkeeper Hortêncio Peres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. José Paulo Félix fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adhemar Sampaio having to interfere. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

With a little luck, Rolante's Adhemar Sampaio got control of the ball when Nildo Andrade tried to sneak it across the goal line. Hortêncio Peres took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Loyola, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, David Loyola managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rolante's supporters rose to their feet, but David Loyola was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hortêncio Peres breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hortêncio Peres showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Loyola, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. 70 minutes into the match, Rolante's Genílson Santana sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hortêncio Peres narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Hortêncio Peres showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from David Loyola in the 73rd minute of the match. Genílson Santana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hortêncio Peres having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Paulo Félix in the 84th minute of play forced Rolante's goalkeeper Adhemar Sampaio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. David Loyola took the ball and in the 88 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hortêncio Peres. Hortêncio Peres dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. If Genílson Santana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. José Paulo Félix received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Adhemar Sampaio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. irajamaoca's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
