An unexpectedly hard shot by João Paulo Furlan in the 6th minute of play forced Roda jc's goalkeeper Rubens Veiga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 7 minutes into the match, Metolokos MZ Clube's Edu Freitas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rubens Veiga narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Alan Almeida made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcus Santos in the 19th minute of play. Metolokos MZ Clube's defense didn't have a chance, in the 24th minute, when Enrique Brito scored to the left of an out of position Alan Almeida, making the score, 1-0. João Paulo Furlan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Edu Freitas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 37 minutes, Edu Freitas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Metolokos MZ Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edu Freitas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Edu Freitas charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Edu Freitas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 43 played minutes Metolokos MZ Clube got a freekick which was hit by Edu Freitas. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when João Paulo Furlan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Marcus Santos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Alan Almeida tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edu Freitas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Edu Freitas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Rubens Veiga made a huge save. 63 minutes into the game, Metolokos MZ Clube's Edu Freitas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rubens Veiga made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After some careless play in the Roda jc defense, Edu Freitas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rubens Veiga. The Roda jc fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rubens Veiga should have stopped the shot. In the 72ndth minute of the game João Paulo Furlan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Roda jc's Rubens Veiga was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Rubens Veiga made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edu Freitas in the 76th minute. Rubens Veiga made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Edu Freitas sent off a good shot on target. In the 81st minute of the match Régis Silva sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rubens Veiga skillfully saved the ball. Rubinho das Neves hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. João Paulo Furlan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Rubens Veiga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Metolokos MZ Clube supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Metolokos MZ Clube would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
