An unexpected shot in the 4th minute by Enrique Brito got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Enrique Brito's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Adrianinho da Rocha read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. After a rather tough play, GONÇALVES EC's Túlio Pirani got a free kick in the 10th minute. If Marcus Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adrianinho da Rocha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcus Santos, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Roda jc's goalkeeper Rubens Veiga, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When GONÇALVES EC's Jonathan Barreto in 25 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Rubens Veiga guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. After a defensive mix-up in Roda jc's zone, Jonathan Barreto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rubens Veiga came out of the goal and Jonathan Barreto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. José Carlos Pirani charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed José Carlos Pirani the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. José Carlos Pirani kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. When Cláudio Pinho fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored GONÇALVES EC's protests and gave Cláudio Pinho a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, GONÇALVES EC's Cláudio Pinho got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Glauco Ramos charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Glauco Ramos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of GONÇALVES EC booed when Roda jc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Glauco Ramos didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonatan Ståhlman in the 48th minute of play forced Roda jc's goalkeeper Rubens Veiga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jonathan Barreto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jonatan Ståhlman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Roda jc getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Inácio Gerber hit a great ball. The long shot by Túlio Pirani in the 53rd minute really tested Rubens Veiga's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 58th minute, Raphael Veloso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jonatan Ståhlman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Roda jc's Rubinho das Neves got a free kick in the 60th minute. In the 63rd match minute, GONÇALVES EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonathan Barreto to maneuver through the defense. 68 minutes into the match, GONÇALVES EC's goal looked a bit too open when Marcus Santos came free, but Adrianinho da Rocha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Roda jc booed when GONÇALVES EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Túlio Pirani didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fabinho Arósio kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Glauco Ramos in the 83rd minute of play forced GONÇALVES EC's goalkeeper Adrianinho da Rocha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jonathan Barreto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rubens Veiga having to interfere. In the 91st minute of the match, Jonatan Ståhlman tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Rubens Veiga saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. GONÇALVES EC's Cláudio Pinho got his second yellow card of the match in the 94th minute. The referee ordered Cláudio Pinho off the ground. In the 94th minute, Cláudio Pinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
