Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Jonizo's Charles do Nascimento started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Locomotiva's zone, Charles do Nascimento stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Frédson Lopes came out of the goal and Charles do Nascimento tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 6thth minute of the game Charles do Nascimento who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Locomotiva's Frédson Lopes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Gilson Maciel kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind Locomotiva's goalkeeper Frédson Lopes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jonizo's Marcelinho de Sousa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Jonizo from getting a goal against them. Valdir Albuquerque received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Marcelinho de Sousa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Frédson Lopes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Renatinho Lopes in the 14th minute of the match. After 21 played minutes Locomotiva got a freekick which was hit by Marco do Valle. Valdir Albuquerque's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcelinho de Sousa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. Marcelinho de Sousa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rony Mendonça in the 27th minute of the match. In the 30th minute Rony Mendonça shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelinho de Sousa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 30th match minute, Jonizo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frederico Brodel to maneuver through the defense. Valdir Albuquerque fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelinho de Sousa having to interfere. 33 minutes into the game, Gilson Maciel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Locomotiva's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jonizo the free kick. In the 33rd match minute, Locomotiva was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilson Maciel to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Locomotiva booed when Jonizo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Charles do Nascimento didn't get a good kick on the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

With a little luck, Locomotiva's Frédson Lopes got control of the ball when Eusébio de Castro tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Charles do Nascimento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Valdir Albuquerque struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Marcelinho de Sousa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Locomotiva. Renatinho Lopes's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 61stth minute, Frédson Lopes skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 67th minute, Renatinho Lopes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Locomotiva's Frédson Lopes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Charles do Nascimento in the 69th minute of play. When Eusébio de Castro fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Jonizo's protests and gave Eusébio de Castro a yellow card for diving instead. Eusébio de Castro hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Charles do Nascimento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frédson Lopes having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Charles do Nascimento in the 79th minute of play forced Locomotiva's goalkeeper Frédson Lopes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 79 played minutes Locomotiva got a freekick which was hit by Marco do Valle. After a defensive mix-up in Locomotiva's zone, Renatinho Lopes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Frédson Lopes came out of the goal and Renatinho Lopes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 87th minute, Rony Mendonça ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcelinho de Sousa was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rony Mendonça in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcelinho de Sousa saved Jonizo from getting behind. 2-0 became the score in the 91st minute when Valdir Albuquerque elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Locomotiva's zone, Renatinho Lopes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Frédson Lopes came out of the goal and Renatinho Lopes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Locomotiva fans cheered their team off the field, for while Jonizo had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
