Franklin Alves made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Valdir Albuquerque in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Franklin Alves saved Bulhufas F.C from getting behind. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Claudinei Queirós was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 59 minutes into the match. Matías Madureiras short, quick shot in the 67thth minute got Franklin Alves to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Marco do Valle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Franklin Alves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Matías Madureira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 86 minutes in the game, Marco do Valle fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Franklin Alves having to interfere. Locomotiva's Frédson Lopes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baltazar Viana in the 93rd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 98th minute, Tiago Cruz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bulhufas F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Tiago Cruz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Frédson Lopes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Locomotiva were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Bulhufas F.C to leave the ground with a draw.
