After 17 minutes Costas's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Osmar Toledo who took care of the corner kick. When the match clock showed 21 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Róbson Carvalho sped through Merson Concursos FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ciro Nogueira. After 41 played minutes, Costas's David Rosado shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ciro Nogueira came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Costas reached it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Chicão de Mendonça during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 44 played minutes Merson Concursos FC got a freekick which was hit by Chicão de Mendonça. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antônio Quadros in the 45th minute of play forced Merson Concursos FC's goalkeeper Ciro Nogueira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Costas's defense didn't have a chance, in the 48th minute, when Natanael Simões scored to the left of an out of position Marcos Messias, making the score, 1-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Carlos Fernando Abraão to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Róbson Carvalho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 56th minute, Costas's Róbson Carvalho dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-4. After 59 played minutes Costas got a freekick which was hit by Davi Hoffmann. Merson Concursos FC's Natanael Simões suffered a concussion after 62 minutes and had to leave the field. In the 63rd match minute, Costas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Davi Hoffmann to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Merson Concursos FC's Ramón Medeiros got a free kick in the 67th minute. 70 minutes into the game, Róbson Carvalho lined in a short shot 1-5 behind a frustrated Ciro Nogueira. Antônio Quadros struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Ciro Nogueira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Costas. After a rather tough play, Costas's Davi Hoffmann got a free kick in the 75th minute. With a little luck, Merson Concursos FC's Ciro Nogueira got control of the ball when Antônio Quadros tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Róbson Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the last second Ciro Nogueira throw himself and got hold of the ball when Róbson Carvalho in the 88thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. In the 90th minute Magno Corrêa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Messias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ciro Nogueira was out of position in the 94 minute of play, and Róbson Carvalho capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Róbson Carvalho really showed his touch with that goal: 1-6. Costas played a much better game than Merson Concursos FC and deserved their victory. The Merson Concursos FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
