Jefferson Sá sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. João Vítor Messias showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Afonso Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. After 12 played minutes Santoryu FC got a freekick which was hit by Dé Furlan. In the 13th minute Afonso Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Vítor Messias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Claudinho de Carvalho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cacá de Medeiros in the 22nd minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Gilberto Valadares's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but João Vítor Messias was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. Jefferson Sá received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. João Vítor Messias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 33rd minute, José Maria Esteves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Claudinho de Carvalho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cacá de Medeiros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cacá de Medeiros in the 43rd minute of play forced Braga FC's goalkeeper Claudinho de Carvalho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jefferson Sá fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Vítor Messias having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

If Jefferson Sá had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Claudinho de Carvalho came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by Santoryu FC's Naldo Costa. But to his dismay, Naldo Costa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. When Jefferson Sá came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Braga FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jefferson Sá couldn't finish the play. After 67 played minutes Braga FC got a freekick which was hit by João Vítor Silva. Claudinho de Carvalho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cacá de Medeiros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 79 minutes into the game, Bruninho Arce threw the ball into play from the sideline. Braga FC's Marcinho Alves quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Jefferson Sá recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. João Vítor Messias showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jefferson Sá in the 87th minute of the match. If Jefferson Sá had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. João Vítor Messias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jefferson Sá in the 90th minute of play. Gilberto Valadares kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match.
