Spectators: 7218 (Terracing: 5415, Seating: 1660, VIP seats: 143) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. José Carlos Chaves started the match with the kick off. Zézinho de Azevedo took the ball and in the 3 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wilton Soares. Wilton Soares dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 6 minutes into the game, Adriano Carneiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ihum's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Panellas the free kick. Fábio Veiga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 8 played minutes Ihum got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Paulo Xavier. After having played for 9 minutes, Zézinho de Azevedo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Panellas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zézinho de Azevedo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Wilton Soares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zézinho de Azevedo in the 11th minute of play. Panellas's Marcelo Chaves proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Panellas from getting a goal against them. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zézinho de Azevedo in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wilton Soares saved Ihum from getting behind. Fábio Veiga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Wilton Soares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fábio Veiga in the 23rd minute of play. 24 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ihum's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Fábio Veiga was slow to take the kick. During this time Panellas's players had a chance to rest. Panellas's Marcelo Chaves proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Panellas from getting a goal against them. Zézinho de Azevedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 32 played minutes Ihum got a freekick which was hit by Betinho de Carvalho. Donato Sergipano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Marcelo Chaves made a huge save. José Carlos Chaves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelo Chaves having to interfere. Zézinho de Azevedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Umberto de Queiroz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zézinho de Azevedo in the 42nd minute of play forced Ihum's goalkeeper Wilton Soares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 45th minute, Cícero Seco made a precise shot to the right of Wilton Soares. Ihum's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fábio Veiga stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Cícero Seco ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wilton Soares was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Zézinho de Azevedo succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-4 in the 55th playminute. Wilton Soares stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fábio Veiga's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. If Fábio Veiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Wilton Soares managed to avoid a goal in the 69thth minute, when Panellas's Fábio Veiga fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Ademir Mendonça kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. When Germano Freitas came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Ihum fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Germano Freitas couldn't finish the play. Wilton Soares stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cícero Seco's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. Zézinho de Azevedo took the ball and in the 80 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wilton Soares. Wilton Soares dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. In the 85th minute, Donato Sergipano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcelo Chaves was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-5. Zézinho de Azevedo struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Wilton Soares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Panellas. With a little luck, Ihum's Wilton Soares got control of the ball when Zézinho de Azevedo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cícero Seco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Wilton Soares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wilton Soares made a fantastic save in the 97th minute, when Cícero Seco sent off a good shot on target.
