Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Júnior Couto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leandro Zanette, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Renan Veloso got free with Júnior Couto in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 15 minutes into the match, Saboo EC's goal looked a bit too open when Elias Carneiro came free, but Júnior Couto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Márcio Pombal came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Saboo EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Márcio Pombal couldn't finish the play. In the 23rd match minute, Aninim AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leandro Zanette to maneuver through the defense. After 25 minutes, Leandro Zanette mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Aninim AD and the Saboo EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Saboo EC booed when Aninim AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leandro Zanette didn't get a good kick on the ball. 27 minutes into the match, Aninim AD's goal looked a bit too open when André Mota came free, but Tomé Silva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 32ndth minute of the game Elias Carneiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Saboo EC's Júnior Couto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A hard shot by Tony Velasco from long distance, 39 minutes into the match, got Júnior Couto's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Júnior Couto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elias Carneiro in the 41st minute of play. André Mota might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tomé Silva. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. André Mota ran back to his position shaking his head. Júnior Couto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elias Carneiro in the 44th minute of the match. After 48 minutes of play, Saboo EC's Márcio Pombal made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tomé Silva was left in no man's land by his defense there! After the first half Saboo EC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when André Mota made the kick off in the second half. Tomé Silva made an important save on a dangerous shot by Márcio Pombal in the 57th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Leonardo Koehler during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 58 played minutes Aninim AD got a freekick which was hit by Leonardo Koehler. Márcio Pombal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomé Silva having to interfere. André Mota received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Tomé Silva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tomé Silva came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by Saboo EC's Márcio Pombal. But to his dismay, Márcio Pombal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Renan Veloso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Júnior Couto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eliézer Borges received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Tomé Silva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 96th minute Elias Carneiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Júnior Couto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Elias Carneiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Júnior Couto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Saboo EC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
