Spectators: 7243 (Terracing: 5433, Seating: 1666, VIP seats: 144) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Doni Sarmento started the match with the kick off. Divino's Silas da Silva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Doni Sarmento in the 7th minute of play. When Belmiro Godoi fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SuperCampeõesRJ's protests and gave Belmiro Godoi a yellow card for diving instead. Raimundo Azevedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guto Baptista, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Afonsinho de Godoi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Raimundo Azevedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guto Baptista in the 16th minute of play forced SuperCampeõesRJ's goalkeeper Raimundo Azevedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Raimundo Azevedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guto Baptista, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Raimundo Azevedo was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Guto Baptista showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 25 minute of play. Afonsinho de Godoi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raimundo Azevedo having to interfere. After having played for 31 minutes, Afonsinho de Godoi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Divino's supporters crossed their fingers, but Afonsinho de Godoi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Afonsinho de Godoi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raimundo Azevedo having to interfere. Guto Baptista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Raimundo Azevedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Raimundo Azevedo made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Afonsinho de Godoi sent off a good shot on target. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Guto Baptista made the kick off in the second half. Divino's Guto Baptista got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Doni Sarmento blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Silas da Silva having to make a save. 55 minutes into the game, SuperCampeõesRJ's Willian de Sena nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Silas da Silva made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After 60th play minutes Guto Baptista shot 2-1, a short shot which went by Raimundo Azevedo and just under the crossbar into goal. Willian de Sena was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 66th minute. SuperCampeõesRJ's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. 68 minutes into the match, SuperCampeõesRJ's goal looked a bit too open when Guto Baptista came free, but Raimundo Azevedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 69th minute, Belmiro Godoi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Guto Baptista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The goalkeeper, Silas da Silva, was totally fooled by SuperCampeõesRJ's Gilson Paraíba, who 75 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Norberto Tróia hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Afonsinho de Godoi in the 83rd minute of play forced SuperCampeõesRJ's goalkeeper Raimundo Azevedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Raimundo Azevedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Afonsinho de Godoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Guto Baptista in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Raimundo Azevedo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to SuperCampeõesRJ getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Luís Donato hit a great ball. Divino's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Guto Aguiar in the 94th minute. Doni Sarmento received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Silas da Silva came out and tried to block the shot, but Doni Sarmento slotted it home off the left post making it 2-3 in the 96th minute. The SuperCampeõesRJ supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing SuperCampeõesRJ would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
