The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. André Mota received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Durval Souto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Doni Figueiredo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With 11 minutes on the clock, Enrique de Azevedo commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 16 played minutes S.E. Bento XVI got a freekick which was hit by Anderson Magalhães. Saboo EC's Márcio Pombal got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ricardo Bittencourt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Durval Souto having to interfere. 25 minutes into the match, Víktor Veiga notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Saboo EC's Júnior Couto. Júnior Couto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Júnior Couto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Doni Figueiredo in the 29th minute of the match. S.E. Bento XVI's Durval Souto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save S.E. Bento XVI from getting a goal against them. Doni Figueiredo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Júnior Couto having to interfere. When Carlos Alberto Linares fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Saboo EC's protests and gave Carlos Alberto Linares a yellow card for diving instead. After 38 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Saboo EC! When the match clock showed 40 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Oséas Lopez sped through Saboo EC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Júnior Couto. Ricardo Bittencourt kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. The Saboo EC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. S.E. Bento XVI were winning 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Víktor Veiga made a kick off. Júnior Couto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Víktor Veiga in the 54th minute of play. Doni Figueiredo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Júnior Couto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Saboo EC getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Cássio Campidelis hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Saboo EC's zone, Doni Figueiredo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Júnior Couto came out of the goal and Doni Figueiredo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Doni Figueiredo's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 62ndth minute, Júnior Couto skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Víktor Veiga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Víktor Veiga in the 66th minute of play forced Saboo EC's goalkeeper Júnior Couto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Doni Figueiredo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Júnior Couto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Saboo EC's Júnior Couto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Saboo EC from getting a goal against them. After 80 minutes, Ricardo Bittencourt mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Saboo EC and the S.E. Bento XVI players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 81st minute, Ricardo Bittencourt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Oséas Lopez, 81 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Víktor Veiga succeeded in the game's 84th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-4. The audience thought a goal was coming when Doni Figueiredo got free with Júnior Couto in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Júnior Couto was a little too slow when Víktor Veiga got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 91st minute. The score was now 0-5. When the match was over S.E. Bento XVI could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Saboo EC throughout the match.
