Yuri de Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomé Silva having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when João Adolfo Cosme made the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes Aninim AD got a freekick which was hit by Leandro Zanette. In the 54th minute, Baltazar Mendonça hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gino Baptista recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If César Queiroz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Baltazar Mendonça received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Tomé Silva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match clock showed 68 minutes, the score became 2-1 when João Adolfo Cosme sped through Aninim AD's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Tomé Silva. The audience was convinced that João Adolfo Cosme's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tomé Silva was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. When Yuri de Castro came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Grêmio fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Yuri de Castro couldn't finish the play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Grêmio had played much better football throughout.
