With a little luck, Barcelona's Fernandinho Guimarães got control of the ball when Doni Figueiredo tried to sneak it across the goal line. 18 minutes into the game, Fernando de Souza was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Barcelona's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave S.E. Bento XVI the free kick. After 18 played minutes Barcelona got a freekick which was hit by Fernando de Souza. Fernandinho Guimarães acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 19th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Oséas Lopez. Nico Lopez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Durval Souto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. Víktor Veiga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Fernandinho Guimarães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 30 minutes into the game, Adhemar Cearense was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. S.E. Bento XVI's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Barcelona the free kick. The supporters of Barcelona booed when S.E. Bento XVI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adhemar Cearense didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 36th play minute Doni Figueiredo came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Fernandinho Guimarães. 2-0. Durval Souto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nico Lopez in the 40th minute of the match. Doni Figueiredo struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Fernandinho Guimarães didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for S.E. Bento XVI. Barcelona's Fernandinho Guimarães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Víktor Veiga in the 41st minute of play. After some careless play in the Barcelona defense, Víktor Veiga kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fernandinho Guimarães. The Barcelona fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fernandinho Guimarães should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, S.E. Bento XVI's Adhemar Cearense got a free kick in the 44th minute. When Barcelona's Nico Lopez in 46 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Durval Souto guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Adhemar Cearense kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Doni Figueiredo in the 53rd minute of play forced Barcelona's goalkeeper Fernandinho Guimarães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 60th minute, Doni Figueiredo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Víktor Veiga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Fernandinho Guimarães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Doni Figueiredo in the 63rd minute of play forced Barcelona's goalkeeper Fernandinho Guimarães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fernandinho Guimarães didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Víktor Veiga went, in the 64th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Doni Figueiredo in the 73rd minute of play forced Barcelona's goalkeeper Fernandinho Guimarães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Víktor Veiga got in the 74th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Fernandinho Guimarães handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. In the 80th minute, Víktor Veiga ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fernandinho Guimarães was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. If Doni Figueiredo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 88 minutes into the game, Nico Lopez cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-1. Durval Souto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Víktor Veiga in the 93rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fernandinho Guimarães prevented the ball from getting in the gole. There was no doubt that S.E. Bento XVI were the better team. S.E. Bento XVI's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
