The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Telmo Silva's late challenge caught a C.R. Legião's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Telmo Silva helped the player get up and apologised. After 5 played minutes Pocos got a freekick which was hit by Telmo Silva. When Luís Paulo Guimarães came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the C.R. Legião fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luís Paulo Guimarães couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Joel Quintal during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to C.R. Legião getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Joel Quintal hit a great ball. In the 10th minute, Lucas Antunes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pocos fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Flavinho Aguiar's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 16thth minute, Denílson da Costa skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 23 minutes into the match, Lucas Antunes notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of C.R. Legião's Cristóvão Queirós. Cristóvão Queirós was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucas Antunes in the 31st minute of play forced C.R. Legião's goalkeeper Cristóvão Queirós to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pocos's Denílson da Costa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Pocos from getting a goal against them. Lucas Antunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristóvão Queirós having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Betão Varela to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in C.R. Legião's zone, Mateus Corrêa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristóvão Queirós came out of the goal and Mateus Corrêa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Flavinho Aguiar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Flavinho Aguiar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Betão Varela struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Denílson da Costa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C.R. Legião. In the 64th minute, Betão Varela ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Denílson da Costa was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. If Lucas Antunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Telmo Silva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. During the 87th minute of the match Edinho Cardozo completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Edinho Cardozo a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Edinho Cardozo kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. C.R. Legião's Joel Quintal got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The C.R. Legião manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Pocos to win.
