The crowd rose to their feet as Maciel FC's Nelson Baptista slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ismael Loureiro. That made the score 1-2 after 47 minutes of play. The Maciel FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Marequeta SC were winning 1-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Célio Pombal to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute, Marquinhos Monteiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dida de Moraes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marquinhos Monteiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cafu Abreu ran back to his position shaking his head. Alessandro Catarinense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Ismael Loureiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Marequeta SC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
