Amauri Rocha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joaquim Munhoz in the 35th minute of play. Dadá Peixoto charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dadá Peixoto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 36 played minutes Umbilino SS got a freekick which was hit by Dadá Peixoto. Umbilino SS's Amauri Rocha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kléberson Paulista in the 45th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Porco Futebol clube's Orlando Nogueira got a free kick in the 47th minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Válter Mello was the one to do the kick off. Nilton Messias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arí Custódio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joaquim Munhoz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amauri Rocha having to interfere. A collision led to Umbilino SS getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Benjamim Moura hit a great ball.
