Jorginho Brito took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Afonso Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Afonso Montenegro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 23rd play minute Elivélton de Alcântara came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Juninho Guedes. 1-1. Elivélton de Alcântara could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Juninho Guedes made a huge save. 34 minutes into the match, Goldens Boys's goal looked a bit too open when Afonso Montenegro came free, but Jorginho Brito reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Goldens Boys defense, Afonso Montenegro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jorginho Brito. The Goldens Boys fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jorginho Brito should have stopped the shot. In the 44th match minute, Goldens Boys was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Robinho Luz to maneuver through the defense. In the 46th minute, Kléber Zanette hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Luiz Ramos made a kick off. Afonso Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Luiz Ramos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Juninho Guedes was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in 9 de abril fc's zone, Luiz Ramos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juninho Guedes came out of the goal and Luiz Ramos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to 9 de abril fc getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Felippe do Nascimento hit a great ball. In the 70th minute, Afonso Montenegro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jorginho Brito was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. After 76 played minutes 9 de abril fc got a freekick which was hit by Elder Neto. Goldens Boys were awarded a corner in the 79th minute after 9 de abril fc's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Olívio Campidelis took the corner. The corner ended in Olívio Campidelis almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but 9 de abril fc's Juninho Guedes did a great save. In the 83rd minute, Osvaldo Urbano fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Luiz Ramos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Afonso Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorginho Brito having to interfere. When the match was over 9 de abril fc could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Goldens Boys throughout the match.
