Maciel FC's Dida de Moraes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arí Custódio in the 3rd minute of play. Arí Custódio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Dida de Moraes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Nelson Baptista managed to get in a good position for a shot. Maciel FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Nelson Baptista was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Amauri Rocha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dida de Moraes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Válter Mello in the 12th minute of the match. In the 13th minute Válter Mello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dida de Moraes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Válter Mello in the 15th minute of play forced Maciel FC's goalkeeper Dida de Moraes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dida de Moraes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arí Custódio in the 22nd minute of play. Beto Leal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amauri Rocha having to interfere. Nelson Baptista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amauri Rocha having to interfere. Amauri Rocha made an important save on a dangerous shot by Beto Leal in the 29th minute. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Umbilino SS's goalkeeper Amauri Rocha, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Beto Leal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Beto Leal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Arí Custódio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Arí Custódio kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Dida de Moraes. That made the score 0-1 in the 64 minute of play. After a rather tough play, Maciel FC's Denílson Miranda got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Denílson Miranda hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. With his leg Dida de Moraes managed to avoid a goal in the 76thth minute, when Umbilino SS's Arí Custódio fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Benjamim Moura had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 84 minutes into the match, Maciel FC's goal looked a bit too open when Válter Mello came free, but Dida de Moraes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 90th match minute, Maciel FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Célio Pombal to maneuver through the defense. After a good free kick, Célio Pombal got an opportunity to smash the ball into the goal, but unfortunately, the ball went just outside the goal, which resulted in a goal kick for Umbilino SS. In the 97th match minute, Umbilino SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arí Custódio to maneuver through the defense. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Umbilino SS had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
