The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Dida de Moraes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Elivélton de Alcântara in the 9th minute. Nelson Baptista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Jorginho Brito tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 18th of the match, Luiz Ramos tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Dida de Moraes got in the way and made a wonderful save. After 21 played minutes Maciel FC got a freekick which was hit by Nelson Baptista. Pedrão de Souza took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 22nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dida de Moraes. Maciel FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Elivélton de Alcântara took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dida de Moraes. Dida de Moraes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. After 46 minutes, Denílson Miranda mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Maciel FC and the Goldens Boys players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 46th match minute, Maciel FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Denílson Miranda to maneuver through the defense. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Luiz Ramos made the kick off in the second half. If Beto Leal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maciel FC were furious when Agnaldo Seco was red carded, 55 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in Maciel FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 55th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Goldens Boys a penalty, 57 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Olívio Campidelis, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Maciel FC's Dida de Moraes. 2-0. Elivélton de Alcântara recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dida de Moraes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Ramos in the 73rd minute of play. In the 74th minute, Nelson Baptista hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 76th minute, Kléber Zanette got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alexsandro Secco hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. In the 98thth minute of the game Elivélton de Alcântara who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Maciel FC's Dida de Moraes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the referee ended the match the Goldens Boys players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
