Basílio Novaes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudinei de Alcântara, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. FC's protests and gave Arnaldo Gerber a yellow card for diving instead. In the 8th minute, Arnaldo Gerber hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dráuzio de Almeida recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Basílio Novaes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Claudinei de Alcântara's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. Dráuzio de Almeida fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Basílio Novaes having to interfere. 16 minutes into the match, INF. FC's goal looked a bit too open when Claudinei de Alcântara came free, but Basílio Novaes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zezito's Pedrinho Garcia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elder Guerra in the 23rd minute of play. Elder Guerra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedrinho Garcia having to interfere. In the 30th minute, one of INF. FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for INF. FC. In the 31st minute there was a penalty for Zezito. Dino da Cunha stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Basílio Novaes. 0-1. Pedrão Sabóia's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 34thth minute, Pedrinho Garcia skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 39 minutes in the game, Elder Guerra fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Pedrinho Garcia having to interfere. In the 41st minute, one of Zezito:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Zezito. Elder Guerra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The attack was good, but when Dráuzio de Almeida in the 53rd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Arnaldo Gerber managed to get in a good position for a shot. INF. FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Arnaldo Gerber was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedrinho Garcia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pedrinho Garcia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elder Guerra in the 73rd minute of play. The supporters of INF. FC booed when Zezito was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zézinho de Alcântara didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 74th minute Pedrão Sabóia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedrinho Garcia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 75th match minute, INF. FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zé Roberto Braga to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Zezito getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Rony Vinhas hit a great ball. Pedrão Sabóia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 82nd minute, Elder Guerra left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The INF. FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Pedrão Sabóia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. INF. FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
