After having played for 36 minutes, Sílvio Luiz Netto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Acurui's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sílvio Luiz Netto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A hard shot 38 in the game by Sílvio Luiz Netto from a close distance when the talented Reinaldo Furlan managed to make a qualified save. Xandy FC's players were relieved. In the 41st minute, Edvaldo Paraíba got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 42nd match minute, Xandy FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Francisco Fonseca to maneuver through the defense. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

After a rather tough play, Acurui's Eriberto Linhares got a free kick in the 56th minute. Acurui's Sílvio Luiz Netto got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sílvio Luiz Netto in the 67th minute of play forced Xandy FC's goalkeeper Reinaldo Furlan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 69 minutes into the match, Xandy FC's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Barral came free, but Reinaldo Furlan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 70 minutes into the match, Acurui's Edvaldo Paraíba sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Reinaldo Furlan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 74 played minutes Acurui got a freekick which was hit by Luís Barral. 76 minutes into the match, Xandy FC's goal looked a bit too open when Sílvio Luiz Netto came free, but Reinaldo Furlan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Reinaldo Furlan came out of the goal and Sílvio Luiz Netto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sílvio Luiz Netto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Reinaldo Furlan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Xandy FC's Francisco Fonseca got a free kick in the 91st minute. Reinaldo Furlan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sílvio Luiz Netto in the 92nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sílvio Luiz Netto in the 94th minute of play forced Xandy FC's goalkeeper Reinaldo Furlan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
