In the 23rd match minute, Acurui was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sílvio Luiz Castro to maneuver through the defense. With his leg Tibúrcio de Sena managed to avoid a goal in the 25thth minute, when Parati's Erasmo Loyola fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edvaldo Paraíba to strike the kick off in the second half. Iuri Coutinho charged in rather forcefully in the 50th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 52ndth minute of the game Edvaldo Paraíba who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Parati's Eduardo Prestes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Eduardo Prestes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edvaldo Paraíba's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. Sílvio Luiz Nettos short, quick shot in the 56thth minute got Eduardo Prestes to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 62nd minute Clemente Castro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tibúrcio de Sena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 69 minutes, Sílvio Luiz Castro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Acurui and the Parati players grew even worse after the yellow card. The Acurui fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tibúrcio de Sena should have stopped the shot. The Parati support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
