After 10 minutes, Zé Roberto Braga mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the INF. FC and the Vespacity FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Pedrão Sabóia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Wilson Prado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vespacity FC's Wilson Prado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elder Guerra in the 21st minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Pedrão Sabóia managed to get in a good position for a shot. INF. FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Pedrão Sabóia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wilson Prado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 24 minutes into the match, Elder Guerra dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Wilson Prado, 1-0. Wilson Prado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elder Guerra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pedrão Sabóia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Wilson Prado made a huge save. Basílio Novaes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sidney Nascimento in the 30th minute of the match. Carlos Lago fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Basílio Novaes having to interfere. Pedrão Sabóia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Wilson Prado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elder Guerra in the 37th minute of the match. When Zé Roberto Braga was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 38 minutes had been played. Zé Roberto Braga hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Sidney Nascimento managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vespacity FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Sidney Nascimento was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Basílio Novaes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pedrão Sabóia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 48th minute of the match, but Wilson Prado made a huge save. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sidney Nascimento to make the kick off. When Pedrão Sabóia came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the INF. FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedrão Sabóia couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Vespacity FC's Eriberto de Lima got a free kick in the 60th minute. Arnaldo Gerber fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilson Prado having to interfere. In the 64th minute Pedrão Sabóia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Prado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 66 minutes into the match, Carlos Lago notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of INF. FC's Basílio Novaes. Basílio Novaes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 70th minute of the match Cesinha Leme shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Wilson Prado showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. INF. FC's Pedrão Sabóia got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Arnaldo Gerber had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to INF. FC getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Claudinei Moreno hit a great ball. Pedrão Sabóia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Wilson Prado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arnaldo Gerber might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wilson Prado. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Arnaldo Gerber ran back to his position shaking his head. Sílvio Galvão's late challenge caught a INF. FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sílvio Galvão helped the player get up and apologised. Sílvio Galvão kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Vespacity FC's zone, Pedrão Sabóia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wilson Prado came out of the goal and Pedrão Sabóia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Elder Guerra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Wilson Prado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. INF. FC were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
