Quintinos's supporters rose to their feet, but 毛冰泉 was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fernandão Monteiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

Ramiro Loureiro came out of the goal in the 51st minute to try and stop a shot by Vasco-DF's Geraldo Miranda. But to his dismay, Geraldo Miranda quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. 56 minutes into the game, one of Vasco-DF:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Geraldo Miranda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 67th minute Geraldo Miranda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ramiro Loureiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
