The audience thought a goal was coming when Tiaguinho Meira got free with Fernandão Monteiro in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 34 played minutes Vasco-DF got a freekick which was hit by Caio da Fonseca. In the last second Fernandão Monteiro throw himself and got hold of the ball when Oscar Vieira in the 35thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Geraldo Miranda made the kick off in the second half. Caio da Fonseca could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Clóvis Paes made a huge save. In the 69th match minute, Vasco-DF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Narciso Cruz to maneuver through the defense. When the match clock showed 70 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Oscar Vieira sped through Vasco-DF's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Fernandão Monteiro. If Oscar Vieira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. But to his dismay, Tiaguinho Meira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Jefferson de Barros hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. ૨ε∂-ɓµℓℓƒαℓσร had won after a very even match.
