After 23 minutes, José Paulo Vides mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the S.C Petrolina em Vermelho and the Taitinga FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of S.C Petrolina em Vermelho booed when Taitinga FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcos Arantes didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Nicolas Silva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, S.C Petrolina em Vermelho's Délio Corrêa got a free kick in the 31st minute. In the 31st minute, Nicolas Silva ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kiko de Moraes was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. When Válbson Ramalho came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Taitinga FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Válbson Ramalho couldn't finish the play. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nestor Mendonça was the one to do the kick off. Luizinho Botelho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nestor Mendonça in the 52nd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Marcos Arantes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Taitinga FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcos Arantes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kiko de Moraes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kiko de Moraes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Válbson Ramalho in the 58th minute of play. In the 59th minute, Taitinga FC's Evaristo Eger dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. After 62 played minutes S.C Petrolina em Vermelho got a freekick which was hit by Cléber Linhares. Nicolas Silva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Kiko de Moraes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Evaristo Eger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luizinho Botelho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nestor Mendonça in the 67th minute of play. Nicolas Silva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kiko de Moraes having to interfere. After 74 played minutes S.C Petrolina em Vermelho got a freekick which was hit by Tião Rosa. 81 minutes into the match, Taitinga FC's goal looked a bit too open when Emílio Reis came free, but Luizinho Botelho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cícero Machado's late challenge caught a S.C Petrolina em Vermelho's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cícero Machado helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Taitinga FC getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Cícero Machado hit a great ball. Nicolas Silva might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kiko de Moraes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nicolas Silva ran back to his position shaking his head. Evaristo Eger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Marcos Arantes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kiko de Moraes was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. In the 89th minute, Evaristo Eger got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Kiko de Moraes was out of position in the 91 minute of play, and Marcos Arantes capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Marcos Arantes really showed his touch with that goal: 0-4.
