Atlético Clube Tá Rocheda's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Caetano Lucas ran over to the corner to take the kick. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Severino Tavares's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Donato Zanette read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. Donato Zanette showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dorival Godoi in the 31st minute of the match. In the 32nd minute, Cristóvão de Brito hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Severino Tavares in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Donato Zanette prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severino Tavares in the 43rd minute of play forced Atlético Clube Tá Rocheda's goalkeeper Donato Zanette to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 46 minutes into the match, Severino Tavares had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Donato Zanette. Atlético Clube Tá Rocheda's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Severino Tavares was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dorival Godoi to strike the kick off in the second half. If Caio Sampaio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The Specials football team supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Specials football team would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
