The crowd rose to their feet as Sandrinho Soares kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Bruno Lago. That made the score 1-0 in the 13 minute of play. With a little luck, Macacas SC's Bruno Lago got control of the ball when Sílvio Luís Pontes tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bruno Lago showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sandrinho Soares, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. An unexpected shot in the 20th minute by Sílvio Luís Pontes got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 25th minute, Geovani Berger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sandrinho Soares recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sandrinho Soares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Sílvio Luís Pontes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Sandrinho Soares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Lago having to interfere. Bruno Lago showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sandrinho Soares, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Neymar Levandovskiy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jarbas Ribeiro in the 39th minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Sandrinho Soares's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bruno Lago read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. In the 82nd minute, Durvalino Varela sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Macacas SC's Bruno Lago didn't even have to move. The audience was convinced that Sandrinho Soares's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bruno Lago was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. In the 86th minute Sílvio Luís Pontes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruno Lago saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
