After 7 minutes, Aírton Siqueira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Imburana and the Remo players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Imburana getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Aírton Siqueira hit a great ball. Oséias Moreno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sérgio Mineiro in the 11th minute of the match. In the 12th minute, Rafinha Rossi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Cícero Seco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 17th minute, Didi Secco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cristóvão Trevisan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oséias Moreno having to interfere. When Sidnei Barbosa fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Imburana's protests and gave Sidnei Barbosa a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Imburana fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 23rd minute. Penalty! In the 29th minute, Rafinha Rossi reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Raphael de Sousa. The goal made the score 1-1. After a rather tough play, Imburana's Aírton Siqueira got a free kick in the 31st minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sérgio Mineiro to make the kick off. Raphael de Sousa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafinha Rossi, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. When Cícero Seco came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Imburana fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cícero Seco couldn't finish the play. In the 60th minute, Paulão Sousa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Cícero Seco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Remo's Cristóvão Trevisan got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Cristóvão Trevisan came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Remo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristóvão Trevisan couldn't finish the play. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind Imburana's goalkeeper Oséias Moreno, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Cícero Seco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raphael de Sousa having to interfere. Raphael de Sousa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cícero Seco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind Remo's goalkeeper Raphael de Sousa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Oséias Moreno showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sérgio Mineiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 93rd minute of the game. One of Remo:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Imburana:s goal. Remo's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
