Bruno Lago showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sérgio Mineiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Bruno Lago took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sérgio Mineiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Aloísio Pinho fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. After 36 played minutes Macacas SC got a freekick which was hit by Geovani Berger. In the 43rd minute Cristóvão Trevisan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruno Lago saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristóvão Trevisan struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Bruno Lago didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Remo. The Macacas SC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Remo were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sérgio Mineiro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
