Olavo Gonçalves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rômulo Velloso in the 36th minute of play forced Tornado FC's goalkeeper Arí Mangueira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Juarês Nunes could shoot a difficult shot in the 38th minute, which Fernandinho Brasil however easily saved by the left post. Arí Mangueira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olavo Gonçalves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Olavo Gonçalves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When Edmílson Barbosa fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tornado FC's protests and gave Edmílson Barbosa a yellow card for diving instead. In the 73rd minute, Edmílson Barbosa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marvolo F.C.'s Zé Roberto Queirós got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 76 minutes into the match, Tornado FC's goalkeeper Arí Mangueira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rômulo Velloso.
