After a defensive mix-up in Winstar FC's zone, Hélio Silveira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Antônio Carlos Rosado came out of the goal and Hélio Silveira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Atlético Alagoano's Hélio Silveira got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Winstar FC's Antônio Carlos Rosado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Augusto Reis in the 83rd minute of play. In the 85th minute, João Augusto Reis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 88 minutes into the match, João Augusto Reis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Antônio Carlos Rosado. Winstar FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that João Augusto Reis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. In the 98th minute Hélio Silveira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antônio Carlos Rosado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Atlético Alagoano's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
