Vinícius Martins guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Vinícius Martins came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by Croa's Hortêncio Gomes. But to his dismay, Hortêncio Gomes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Vinícius Martins showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hortêncio Gomes, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Hortêncio Gomes took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vinícius Martins. Vinícius Martins dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. 43 minutes into the match, Croa's goal looked a bit too open when Mathias Luz came free, but Zé Pedro Proença reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dida de Queiroz in the 45th minute of play forced Atletico G. A.'s goalkeeper Vinícius Martins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vladimir Sanches charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vladimir Sanches the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Atletico G. A. booed when Croa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vladimir Sanches didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luís Eduardo Leme got free with Zé Pedro Proença in the 48th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

After 52 minutes, Carlos Fernando Souto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Atletico G. A. and the Croa players grew even worse after the yellow card. Denílson Barros walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. 55 minutes into the match, Hortêncio Gomes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vinícius Martins. Atletico G. A.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hortêncio Gomes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. In the 60th minute, Luís Eduardo Leme ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Zé Pedro Proença was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. 63 minutes into the match, Atletico G. A.'s goal looked a bit too open when Dida de Queiroz came free, but Vinícius Martins reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mathias Luz struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Zé Pedro Proença didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Atletico G. A.. In the 71st minute, Croa's Hortêncio Gomes dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-4. 75 minutes into the match, Luís Eduardo Leme notched a goal, 2-4, to the right of Croa's Zé Pedro Proença. Zé Pedro Proença was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Vinícius Martins made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hortêncio Gomes in the 81st minute. Hortêncio Gomes who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 82ndth minute tested the skills of Vinícius Martins when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Alessandro Mendonça's late challenge caught a Croa's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alessandro Mendonça helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Croa booed when Atletico G. A. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alessandro Mendonça didn't get a good kick on the ball. 85 minutes in the game, Dida de Queiroz fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Vinícius Martins having to interfere. With a little luck, Atletico G. A.'s Vinícius Martins got control of the ball when Hortêncio Gomes tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Croa had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
