Spectators: 7185 (Terracing: 5391, Seating: 1652, VIP seats: 142) Neurônios EC's Fabinho da Costa started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience was convinced that Fabinho da Costa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Osvaldo Aparecido was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. Sebastião Arósio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fabinho da Costa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Osvaldo Aparecido having to make a save. In the 12th minute, Fabinho da Costa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Osvaldo Aparecido didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sebastião Arósio went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. If Fabinho da Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 19th minute of the match Beto da Silveira sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Osvaldo Aparecido skillfully saved the ball. Raphael Palmeira kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Marcelinho Zonta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fabinho da Costa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Beto da Silveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Osvaldo Aparecido having to interfere. Fabinho da Costa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Osvaldo Aparecido read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. Sebastião Arósio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Osvaldo Aparecido having to interfere. After some careless play in the Formigueiro defense, Fabinho da Costa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Osvaldo Aparecido. The Formigueiro fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Osvaldo Aparecido should have stopped the shot. Cauan Pimenta blasted a shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Osvaldo Aparecido having to make a save. When Fabinho da Costa came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Neurônios EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fabinho da Costa couldn't finish the play. After the first half Neurônios EC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Marcelinho Zonta made a kick off. Fabinho da Costa had several of the Formigueiro's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 53 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-3 score and a disappointed Osvaldo Aparecido as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 56th minute Fabinho da Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osvaldo Aparecido saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Formigueiro's Marcelinho Zonta got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fabinho da Costa in the 70thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Osvaldo Aparecido, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Eduardo Negri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Osvaldo Aparecido having to interfere. Lauro Domingues hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. In the 76th match minute, Formigueiro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raphael Palmeira to maneuver through the defense. Osvaldo Aparecido took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabinho da Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fabinho da Costa struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Osvaldo Aparecido didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Neurônios EC. Neurônios EC's Fabinho da Costa got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Formigueiro's Paulo Perez got a free kick in the 87th minute. 89 minutes into the game, Fabinho da Costa recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Osvaldo Aparecido. Fabinho da Costa showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. In the 94th match minute, Formigueiro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Orlando Lopez to maneuver through the defense. Osvaldo Aparecido showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudinho Tavares, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. When the final whistle sounded Neurônios EC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Formigueiro.
