When the match clock showed 6 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Aras Orak sped through Formigueiro's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Osvaldo Aparecido. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raphael Palmeira in the 13th minute of play forced Barcelona's goalkeeper Enio Trigo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 17th minute, Elivélton Tinoco left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Barcelona fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. If Torbjörn Josefsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aras Oraks short, quick shot in the 27thth minute got Osvaldo Aparecido to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Léo Alves fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Formigueiro's protests and gave Léo Alves a yellow card for diving instead. In the 42nd minute there was a penalty for Barcelona. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marcelinho Zonta was the one to do the kick off. Osvaldo Aparecido stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aras Orak's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. Torbjörn Josefsson scored 7-0 in the 53rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Osvaldo Aparecido, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Torbjörn Josefsson in the 57th minute of play forced Formigueiro's goalkeeper Osvaldo Aparecido to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vladimir Vargas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. André Vieira ran back to his position shaking his head. When the match had gone on for 74 minutes, André Vieira put it in 8-0 from a short distance just to the right of Osvaldo Aparecido. In the 78thth minute of the game Torbjörn Josefsson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Formigueiro's Osvaldo Aparecido was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Enio Trigo made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Renan Marques sent off a good shot on target. André Vieira took the ball and in the 82 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Osvaldo Aparecido. Osvaldo Aparecido dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 9-0. In the 86th minute, Orlando Lopez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Osvaldo Aparecido showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vladimir Vargas in the 87th minute of the match. Vladimir Vargas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Formigueiro's Osvaldo Aparecido played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by André Vieira in the 96th minute of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Barcelona fully deserved thier win.
