The Rony Mazza was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Suburbanos's Hélder Ribeiro got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Antônio Ribeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carrancas E.C. were furious when Elivélton Loureiro was red carded, 31 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 31st minute, one of Carrancas E.C.:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Carrancas E.C.. Vânderson Vale took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hélder Ribeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Carrancas E.C.'s Michel Paulista got a free kick in the 40th minute.
