Spectators: 6500 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1500, VIP seats: 0) Luiz Bernardo F. C.'s Genílson Valadares started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, Luiz Bernardo F. C.'s Genílson Valadares sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Clóvis Cerezo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With an all-out effort, Ajax FC's Edgar de Mendonça threw himself towards the right post 7 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Bernardinho Paranaense, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Genílson Valadares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clóvis Cerezo having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Ajax FC's Rafael de Brito got a free kick in the 10th minute. In the 19th minute Marcel Toscano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clóvis Cerezo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rafael de Brito hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Luiz Bernardo F. C.'s Edgar de Mendonça played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernardinho Paranaense in the 26th minute of play. Edgar de Mendonça came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Ajax FC's Felippe Alvarenga. But to his dismay, Felippe Alvarenga quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. If Bernardinho Paranaense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luiz Bernardo F. C.'s Genílson Valadares got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Edgar de Mendonça showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bernardinho Paranaense, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Genílson Valadares recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bernardinho Paranaense to make the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Felippe Alvarenga in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edgar de Mendonça saved Luiz Bernardo F. C. from getting behind. The supporters of Luiz Bernardo F. C. booed when Ajax FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Renatinho Cosme didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 61 played minutes Ajax FC got a freekick which was hit by Rafael de Brito. Renatinho Cosme hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Clóvis Cerezo made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Marcel Toscano sent off a good shot on target. Edgar de Mendonça made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felippe Alvarenga in the 66th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Bernardinho Paranaense's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edgar de Mendonça was relentless in the 67th minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcel Toscano got free with Clóvis Cerezo in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 70th match minute, Ajax FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rafael de Brito to maneuver through the defense. Genílson Valadares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 73 minutes into the match, Luiz Bernardo F. C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Bernardinho Paranaense came free, but Edgar de Mendonça reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With an all-out effort, Luiz Bernardo F. Franklin Senna's late challenge caught a Ajax FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Franklin Senna helped the player get up and apologised. After 86 played minutes Luiz Bernardo F. C. got a freekick which was hit by Franklin Senna. In the 89th minute Ajax FC were awarded a corner. Sandrinho Sá went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 94th minute, Marcel Toscano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luiz Bernardo F. C.'s players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
