Telmo Matos was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Anselmo Quirino showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 14 minute of play. When Carlos Queirós fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Leão Saturno S.C's protests and gave Carlos Queirós a yellow card for diving instead. In the 17th minute, Carlos Queirós hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Carlos Queirós in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Telmo Matos saved galapagos sa from getting behind. After a rather tough play, galapagos sa's Erasmo Mello got a free kick in the 27th minute. Telmo Matos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anselmo Quirino in the 31st minute of the match. Agnaldo Rossi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Naldo Siqueira in the 34th minute of play. Carlos Queirós's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Telmo Matos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. Telmo Matos was a little too slow when Anselmo Quirino got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 43rd minute. The score was now 5-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Naldo Siqueira made a kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Anselmo Quirino managed to get in a good position for a shot. Leão Saturno S.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Anselmo Quirino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Telmo Matos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 54 minutes of play, Leão Saturno S.C's Carlos Queirós made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Telmo Matos was left in no man's land by his defense there! 59 minutes into the game, Carlos Queirós cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-0. Telmo Matos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Telmo Matos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Anselmo Quirino's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. Anselmo Quirino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Telmo Matos having to interfere. Telmo Matos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anselmo Quirino in the 72nd minute of the match. A collision led to Leão Saturno S.C getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Paulo José Abraão hit a great ball. Leão Saturno S.C's Agnaldo Rossi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Naldo Siqueira in the 87th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anselmo Quirino in the 88th minute of play forced galapagos sa's goalkeeper Telmo Matos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 93 minutes into the match, galapagos sa's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Queirós came free, but Telmo Matos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carlos Queirós blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Telmo Matos having to make a save. When the referee ended the match the Leão Saturno S.C players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
