In the 5th minute, Claudinho Cruz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Zé Augusto Pena fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored galapagos sa's protests and gave Zé Augusto Pena a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to galapagos sa getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Zé Augusto Pena hit a great ball. Telmo Matos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cléberson Paranaense in the 8th minute of play. Claudinho Cruz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Telmo Matos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 13 minutes, Claudinho Cruz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bupeva EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Claudinho Cruz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bupeva EC were awarded a corner in the 19th minute after galapagos sa's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Thomás Martins took the corner. Naldo Siqueira received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Frank Gerber came out and tried to block the shot, but Naldo Siqueira slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 25th minute. Oswaldo Lopes took the ball and in the 31 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Frank Gerber. Frank Gerber dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. 35 minutes into the match, Claudinho Cruz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Telmo Matos. galapagos sa's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Claudinho Cruz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Claudinho Cruz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Telmo Matos having to interfere. In the 44thth minute of the game Claudinho Cruz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but galapagos sa's Telmo Matos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Zé Augusto Pena kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Claudinho Cruz made a kick off. 54 minutes into the match, galapagos sa's Oswaldo Lopes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Frank Gerber narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Cléberson Paranaense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Frank Gerber showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Naldo Siqueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Oswaldo Lopes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Naldo Siqueira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Claudinho Cruz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Telmo Matos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. Cléberson Paranaense succeeded in the game's 80th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-2. A collision led to galapagos sa getting a freekick after 84 minutes play.
